Momo star wheels on narrow body 77 911?

Hello all,
My car is a 1977 911S with the original small flares. Right now I have 16 x 7 Fuchs on the rear. The 16 x 8 Momo star wheel has an offset of 11mm (I have read). Does this mean it won't work on my narrow body car, even with a spacer?
Thanks for any input,
-Shelley

I think I finally answered my own question. The Momo star wheel 16 x 8 has an offset of 11mm (I found this on one Rennlister's site). The 911 Fuchs 16 x 8 has an offset of 10mm I believe, and I am told these DO NOT fit, therefore the Momo star wheel (8-inch wide) will not fit on a narrow body, mid-year car. People do say that 951 16 x 8 Fuchs might fit, depending on the car.

I think you will find that going wider than a 7" wheel in the back of an "un" flared 911 will be tough to do. Perhaps a 7.5" custom offset wheel could work, but otherwise I think you've maxed out.
The 951 "8"s can be made to fit in the front of a 911, but the 23.3mm offset likely won't fit in the rear of your "narrow" bodied car. Let us know what you find out though!

I've seen pictures and read posts on the Pelican board concerning 8" wheels back there (from the 944 turbo) -- but I don't want to roll fender flares or any of that. So I think I will stick with the 7s. I had noticed a marked improvement in handling when I put 16 x 7.5" wheels on my '97 VW Passat (replaced 15 x 6), and that's why I was interested in the wider wheels.
