Default Avon R Compounds

I noticed them for sale on TireRack but in very limited sizes. Nonetheless, anyone use them? Impressions?

DR - you should ask the European lister, they are new to America and TR is really the only large dist. in the US, they just started carrying them about 30 days ago.

I noticed that Avon racing tires were used in F3000 last year (or was that two years ago?).

Avon tires are excellent, although I have no specific experience with these new DOT-R tires. They make period correct tires for historic formula and sportscars and I've always heard good things from friends that use them. My only personal experience with Avon was with street tires on a VW, and I thought they were fantastic.
