Crazy to put All-Season on 99 C4?
I need to replace my tires on my 1999 C4 Coupe. I live in Chicago and plan to drive in the winter. So, instead of separate winter/summer tires, I thought I'd compromise and get a "M+S" tire. I like to push my turns here and there on the street, but I don't drive extermely hard. Am I being cheap and lazy to put these on?
I'm considering the Kuhmo ASX and the Pirelli Nero M+S.
thanks.

All-season tires are nothing more than a compromise. They don't do anything well. Especially, when used on sports cars. Get yourself a dedicated set for summer and another one for winter.

dkchicago:
I ran Contis all season on my Boxster for 2 weeks on the winter. Too scary.
Then I bought a set of dedicated winter tires from Porsche (Dunlop Winter Sport M2). Piece of mind.
I bought a second set of Dunlop last January because my first set tread was not depth enough after 3 winters. I used them for 1 1/2 month and returned my leased car. They are for sale on the classified section for cheap (I won't drive the new car on the snow). They are the factory winter tire size for your car.
Get sticky summer tires: Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and winter tires.
