Question Blistering on P Zero Rosso's

I have relatively new pairs of P Zero Rosso's (perhaps some 10-12K on them), and I always seem to get side blisters on my tires. Granted, I live in NYC, which wreaks absolute havoc on tires, but I am curious as to whether other Rennlisters are running into the same issues. Either in NYC or from other areas.

If you haven't had any impact with a curb or such and have not tracked the tire, I would try to get a new tire, pro-rated from where you purchased it. It is a defect.

It is a defect.

Yeah, one in every 10,000 or so tires, MAYBE. Defect rate for tires is incredibly low.

It is the result of impact. Potholes and railroad tracks are good causes. The underlying cause is a split in the sidewall. Whatever you do get them replaced, it is a dangerous condition. Generally considered not adjustable regardless of mileage. If it were a problem with the new tire it would have happened on the machine during inflation.

In 99% of cases a tire engineer can determine cause of failure within seconds. It is pretty rare for a tire to be defective.

Matt, I agree. I did preface the defect comment with a question regarding impact. However, again, we are in agreement.

Matt is saying that it is not a defect. The odds of getting a defective tire are slim to none. Its from an impact like Matt said. It really isn't that hard to do. I hardly let anyone drive my car because of the 40 series tires that I have on it. When I do let someone drive it, I make it know that they have to be careful going over bumps. Maybe you could try a 'reinforced' sidewall tire if the ones you have now are not.

You could also buy Road Hazard and have them replaced every time it happened. It is why tire companies sell it, to protect your investment.
