The plating on wheels of my 2000 "Millenium Edition" 911 has always been thin in places (some brown showing thru), but now the plating is beginning to flake/peel in thin areas. I believe that these were nickel plated polished wheels on this limited edition, and I do recall hearing of problems and replacements related to such problems, but have been unable to find any such records or history. If anyone has info regarding specific cases, or recomendations for locating such info, it would be much appreciated. Any evidence of product defect would be helpful, as my 4yr warrantee has expired weeks ago (of course!).

The 911 Millennium wheels were not plated. They were painted with a special almost mirror finish very high gloss paint. Almost impossible to duplicate. I suggest you contact Wheel Enhancement for some of their suggestions.

That would explain the inconsistent coverage.
