Is it bad to let my summer tires get cold even if I don't drive on them?
I have a driveway but no garage and I plan on putting a car cover on my 718 GTS (with performance summer tires on it) and leaving it in the driveway from December to March. I live just outside Boston so we get snow and it does get cold here, with many days below freezing although not too many days below 20 degrees.
TireRack says that performance tires should be stored > 20 degrees, but if they get below 20, to let them warm up slowly. I do plan on taking my car to the track next year and I don't want performance to suffer, but I don't really have any other options here. In the meantime, I'm looking at garage storage options in the area but I'd rather just leave the car in my driveway if at all possible.

Very interesting and not something I've thought about living in New England.
I don't move my wheels and tires into the house. The garage is not heated. I do move freezable fluids and cordless tool batteries.
Given the temps, we probably should be moving tires, and while I love the idea of my Fuchs sitting indoors with me...well...
