Default New Michelin rear tires for 996 C4 cab...

My rear Michelin PSS tires are down to the wear bars and need to be replaced this spring. I also find the current size (275/35R18) a little small for the rim width (11"). While researching the different sizes that would fit, I learned that the rear tires should be slightly smaller than the fronts in order to play well with the AWD system. The problem I am finding is that my current setup (F: 235/40R18, R: 275/35R18) does not meet this requirement and, Michelin does not make Pilot Super Sport tire in 285/30R18, or 295/30R18...

Are there any other Michelin models that would work with the front PSS in a larger size?

Thanks.

Your best bet is going to be a 295/30 18 or 315/30 18 Pilot Sport PS2. Michelin does not make the Super Sport in good sizing for the 18" 996.

How will the sightly different tread pattern affect handling? Any knowledge of other customers who have done this? Thanks.
