What issues with +2ET on 951 front
Hello,
What would be the problems using +2ET on front hubs of 951?
My situation is the following: I am installing 951 brakes on my VW 1303, front and rear. I have to stick with 15" wheels due to legal reasons. I have two sets: Cookie cutters that I really like, 7J ET23, but which do not clear the calipers. I have another set of 951 15" Phone dials, 7J ET23, which are the only ones to clear the caliper. However, I would like to keep my old wheels too. So I am thinking to install longer studs (already have them) and use original Porsche 21mm rear spacers. Having a wider front would also be beneficial from the stability and control point of view, because using the rear alu arms from 951 it will be very wide in comparison to the front (Beetle normally has wider front than rear, being rear engine, RWD). This would mean that using these wheels and spacers, the ET would be just +2.
I have seen that some 951 cars had spacers on front from factory (maybe the ones with M030 option?), but I do not know what is the ET of the original wheels (most probable 51ET).

Well, to be more precise, there is the wheel with PN 951 362 104 00, which is 15", 7J ET23.3. This is the ONLY wheel that clears the 951 Brembo 4 pot calipers (small ones not the M030 radial mount "Big Reds"). I have the brakes at home and a set of 4 of these wheels, I can post pictures, there is big clearance (maybe 3-4mm). Believe me, I have been investigating this topic thoroughly. I bought the set just in case I can not use the spacers and keep my Cookies. In this case the Phonies will be winter wheels. If I can not use the spacers, I am stuck with them and I will have to sell my Cookies (not what I want to do).
These wheels were never mounted on 951 cars, this is true, not even as option. Still, they have 951 PN...
