Default 17 x 8 cup wheel question

I have recently acquired a couple sets of the factory Cup style wheels. In looking at the wheels I have two different part numbers for the 8" wheels. One part number is 965.362.126.00 and the other is 965.362.126.01. Both part numbers are 17 x 8 wheels with 52mm offset and look to have been made in 1992. The front of the wheel looks the same but when looking at the back side the wheel construction is totally different. Does anyone know by the part numbers what these originally fit? Is one design preferable to the other (lighter, stronger etc)?

Thanks

john

Usually, 00 is superceded by 01. It could be a change of manufacturer or a slight design revision. I'd think that, since they are the same size and offsets, you could use them together.

Adrian has them both listed at 964 wheels in his Wheels and Tires for the 964 spreadsheet.
