Not sure if I'm "good people" but, hit me up when you get your car lined up. Plenty of parking in the city, don't fret. Streets in SF can be bad but you learn where they are and avoid, same with the mega hills.
Plenty of amazing driving roads within 30 mins or so from San Francisco. If you want to hit the track, you should, you have three amazing tracks within a 3 hour radius.
I'm in Lower Pac Heights so not far.

Is anyone thinking of a covered transport down to Monterey for car week? Pick up Wednesday Aug 14th or Thursday Aug 15th return on Sunday August 18? I would need space for one or two cars.
PM me if you want to join forces to rent or if you have an open space in your trailer.
Thanks!

Car Week is not the time to be driving anywhere in that area, crammed. Better to set up a chair on the roadside to see the show. A drive out of the area would work. A very early morning caravan down to Werks world be good.

Drives during Monterey car Week
Driving around Monterey area during Car Week can be frustrating, yet if you go early enough to avoid the normal event attendees, and after the commuters then it really can be pleasant to be part of all the great car scene. In past years, several Porsches gather just before sunset along Scenic Dr between 11th and 13th Ave. Carmel, overlooking the beach, Tuesday-Thursday Friday and Saturday are auction nights. I commute to the events almost everyday starting with the Pre-reunion on the 10th. It helps to always plan on being an hour early for most events, it's always slower than you expect.
For the past 9 years Dan has put on an early morning drive from Carmel Valley to Hahn Winery for picnic (BYO) on Thursday of Car week. Have yet to see a post on Pelican Parts 911 forum for this year.
Monday night (Aug 12th, 6-8pm) at the Monterey dealer there is a party, must have free tickets. Eventbrite.com is the site, "Porsche Monterey Classic Partner Party" is the event. Last year was overwhelming with all of the great cars and tons of people, so this year tickets are required to get in.
Tuesday is the Concours on the Ave 8-3 Ocean Ave Carmel By The Sea, use Rio Rd and park south of Ocean Ave. Free to view
Thursday is the Tour d' Elegance, Pebble Beach Cars, drive 50 miles, starting from Pebble Beach at 8am back roads to Carmel Valley, #1 to Big Sur and back. They park for a couple hour lunch in downtown Carmel, amazing cars to view close up. Crowds, parking and traffic is the worst part, I go early like before 9am and go have breakfast, the cars trickle in about 11:30.
Friday is Werkes Reunion, Corral De Tierra Golf Course, great venue, difficult getting in and out. Highway 68 has lots of morning commute, from Salinas, allow extra time. I try to get there about 7am just as they open the gates. Buy and Corral Pass and cruise in. If not showing I leave by 12:30 and head into Monterey for lunch followed by viewing the other car shows. Friday afternoon is also the Pacific Grove Rolling Concours Rally, charity event drive enmass.
Saturday is the races, that afternoon is a nice event at the Barnyard, sponsored by the Ferrari Club $60/person, unlimited: food, wines and music. Public invited Tickets on line and it's very low-key not your stereotype Ferrari event.

Hey guys,
I am going to do an engine drop on my 993. Before I go and buy a transmission jack and an engine stand/yoke. Do any of you have these in your garage I could borrow?
Thanks!
