I have the thin 27 mm wrench for the tensioners. For those wanting to know it's from MAC tools and the number on it is S 157 A. Don't think this was for these tensioners but for older VW repair. Possibly the front spindle nuts as the early VW's used two tightened against each other. Think there is also a set of K-D wrenches for the VW. Will have to find them and report the part numbers.
I do not have the pin spanner for the balance shaft gears. Just two drill bits to stick in the holes and slip a large screw driver through. I do have a small torq wrench that goes from 15 to 80 foot pounds and a large torq wrench that goes to 200 foot pounds. Two jack stands and a low profile jack.
As to disclaimers: Five minutes or the end of the drive way. Which ever comes first!
I guess there could be a wifey thing as well as a Porsche thing going on. My only kid is going on 15 next month. He's been asking about driving the 944 when he turns 16!
Jonas, belts and chain pressure pad. Valve cover gaskets.
If anyone is interested I can show you how to rebuild your stock BERU ignition wires.
There is also a trick on taking off your outer door handle.
I love it when a plan comes together!

Add a 15 mm to your 17 mm open ends and you have the right tools. Need a can of carb/brake cleaner to blow the crud off of the strut threads.
You loosen the two end bolts at the AC compressor and on the engine first then the 17 mm jam nuts. Many forget this and bend the ends on the strut.

Okay you guys. Here are the two dates that my house is available:
Sunday October 19 OR Sunday October 26
Starting time should be earlier the better.
Let me know how these dates work out for everyone.

I would have to say the 19th... If thats the case, i will just get a motel room overnight up in LA... I am plannin on going to an open house at Road&Track the preceding day with PCA SDR so that would be perfect... Again thanks alot to everyone who is organizing this... I love the fact that i am gonna end up spending maybe 100 bucks as opposed to the 500 i would spend at a shop...

My car will most likely be ready by the end of October, so I favor the 26th over sooner dates. But again, I can't commit just yet . I will know more after this weekend. I don't need to change belts, but having done this job once before will be able provide assistance.
Can the host of the party post detailed directions say from 10th freeway going west from Inland Empire?
Thanks.

Okay, we need more input on date availability. For reference on where I live, you know where Knott's Berry Farm is? Well, its not too far from there.
General directions below. Final address to be given by PM once everyone agrees on a date.
from the Orange County (South):
Take 5 fwy. and Exit Beach Blvd.
Go north on Beach Blvd. to Imperial Hwy. (4 miles).
My house is near the corner of Beach and Imperial Hwy.
From Inland Empire, its better that you take the 10 fwy West to the 57 South. Exit on Imperial Hwy. Go West on Imperial to Beach Blvd. (7 miles).

esanmiguel, either date works for me, so don't worry. My boyfriend won't be coming, he works on weekends.
Okay, we just need to get the tools in order; if anyone can get that tension tool, or something that works, let us know. Otherwise I am told I have an option, but we'd have to all chip in to pay for round trip airfare for it!
