Has anyone bought a car from northwest investment cars in Portland? I called there and got a salesman named Mike who resisted a great deal at the suggestion of having an offsite PPI. In fact, I don't think he was even familiar with the term PPI. I would think that anyone who sell Porsches would know that's just par for the coarse.
He said "Don't you have someone who can come here and inspect it?" Uhg.
I like the car and if it checked out, I would buy it. I'm sure I could push and get it inspected, but I just don't know if I want to reward these guys with a sale.

Looked at a couple of cars there, didn't purchase any. They claimed to have a great Porsche mechanic 'on site.' I can't remember the salesmans name, an older gentleman who seemed very knowledgable about our cars, knew the market for 993's was different for 996's, etc. He wasn't pushy at all, and wasn't really trying to push any one car over the other. They had a 964, 2 993's and a 996 Cab I looked at. Once he lowered the top, my wife actually said "buy a Boxster and save the money, they look the same to me." Ouch! The good thing about the trip however was that is when I decided it would have to be a 993. Took me a few months to find the right one, so don't get discouraged.
As I didn't purchase (didn't really have the combo I was looking for or that spoke to me), didn't really get into the PPI thing. I'd call again and ask for their Porsche specialist and see what happens. If you get to that PPI point, I'd check and see if Steve Weimer from Rennsport does them or can recommend someone. He is in Portland. He may even have some insight as to reputation of NIC.
