So I'm driving along southbound I-680 in northern CA today, heading back from San Ramon to San Jose, when this guy in a blue (I think) 996 Turbo BLASTS past everybody in the left lane, around the Pleasanton area. I think he was easily going over 100MPH.

But he missed seeing the cop parked on the right-hand side of the Interstate. He throws on his brakes, but I figured cop had him. Yep. He pulled behind him, lights on, and pulled him over.

I sure hope it was nobody here, because I think he was easily doing over 100MPH. And to think I was halfway tempted to try and catch up with him. I would like to have heard what that cop said, though. Don't you get automatically arrested if you're caught doing MPH over the limit in California?

If you do over 2x speed limit, you can be cited for reckless driving. Car can be impounded. At 100 or 110, it's just a ticket.

Last weekend a friend of mine, a former pro race driver, told me a story of how he was once pulled over for going over 100 MPH in his motorhome. The cop had a sense of humor and let him go.
