Took the car to get smogged and the CAT flag was not set... the smog guy said to drive it 50 miles. Any other advice on getting the CAT flag to set or anything I should check to make sure it is just a "drive procedure" issue?

Unless it's throwing a code, it's just drive time. If you have an Android phone, you can download the Torque app and buy a cheap BT dongle and you can check the readiness monitors yourself. No need to go back to the smog tech and then find out it's till not set.
