Default San Francisco GT3 Parking

First time poster, long time lurker here.

I’m moving into San Francisco next month, and I’m trying to figure out where to keep my 997 GT3 parked. I’ve looked at a few of the larger collector car storage facilities, and they all seem to have drawbacks for one reason or another (Sausalito Classic Car storage has a mile long waitlist, most of the peninsula places aren’t open on Sundays if I wanted to drop the car off after a weekend trip out of town, South Bay places are just a little too far from the city for convenience, etc.

I know I likely won’t find a “perfect” place, and I’m sure I can find something workable. But I have time to weigh my options, and so I’m curious to get input from this community about how others have solved this issue.

Are any of the self-storage places in the area worth looking into? Or does anyone have any other suggestions (or available secure parking spots close to the city)?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I work in San Francisco and have a crash pad in San Bruno. I commute from Charleston SC and considered bringing my Evora GT out here for some spirited west coast road-trips. But after several break-ins to my daily driver(street parking) I didn’t want to risk it. I searched for indoor/garage parking but never found anything suitable. Check out this website for possible options:

Thanks. I’ve been looking around on Craigslist and spacer as well. I suspect it will ultimately end up at one of the collector car storage facilities outside the city. Certainly not the most convenient option, but I feel comfortable that it will be secure in one of those places.

I have used self-storage facilities in a pinch. Can be an issue if you don't drive the car regularly because most don't have power outlets for plugging in a battery maintainer but some do have them.

I would look for a private garage for rent on craigslist. There are a bunch for $300~ a month or so.

Not sure if you're still looking, but most of the corporate parking garages downtown have monthly parking where you can keep/access your car 24/7.

Bumping this thread. I live in Mission Bay and am looking for a place that I can store my new 911 and keep it on a trickle charger. Ideally, in the city or just south of the city. Thx

The Motoring Club (based in LA) is about to open up a spot in the Marina. Reach out to them -- they'll certainly have space available. If you prefer an intro, I can do that too.
