Default Newly acquired 2001 Boxster in Pacific Northwest - where do I find pals and parts??

Hi,
We just bought a 2001 Boxster S and are looking for friendly folks and suggestions in the South Puget Sound area of Washington State.

We had a pre-purchase inspection done and revealed a punch list of stuff it needs. Mostly minor stuff like drains, panels, filters, etc. but there are some items which will be coming up in the next 1 to 3 years or so. I do a lot of work myself, and I'm looking for someplace that I can look up parts. (something like Moss Motors for Porsche? - did I mention we also have a 76 MGB roadster undergoing pretty thorough rebuild?)

Welcome Michael. I am in the Summit/Waller area.

As to factory parts for DYI, I typically purchase them from Beaverton (Sunset) Porsche in Oregon. If I can't find the parts there in stock, I'll start to look elsewhere.

Hi Michael,

Congrats on the Boxster purchase. I concur with the above, I use https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/ for most of my parts purchases. They have great pricing and fast shipping to my neck of the woods.

Hey Michael,

Congrats on the purchase! We have a very active Porsche community here in the Northwest. You're best bet is to join PCA if you haven't already, and then join the PNWR (Pacific Northwest Region.) We have lots of events ranging from tours, to autocross, to drivers skills, to track days, to concours, to tech sessions in the area. Plenty to keep you busy. https://www.pnwr.org/

I had a 2000 Boxster S a number of years ago and loved it. When it came time to get rid of it, I will happily admit, I cried like a baby. Fantastic cars. Some things to watch for of course, but it sounds like you did the right thing by getting a PPI done.

Ron

When I lived in Vancouver (BC) Beaverton (Sunset) Porsche was my go-to Porsche dealership for parts. I'd ship them to Blaine, WA and do a quick border gas run and pick up my parts. The savings was totally worth it (back then any way.) Get to know their parts team - they will go above and beyond for you. There used to be a girl who worked there, Andrea Hayward. She was by far the best Porsche parts advisor I ever got to know. Welcome and enjoy!

Hello my 9x6 brother! I have a 996 C4S, live in Tacoma. Coming up on 1 year of ownership this summer. We should have a South Sound get together some time, I know there are more of us around. In addition to Internet Sales Depts of various Porsche dealerships around the country, I have ordered parts from ECS Tuning, FCP Euro, Pelican Parts.

I bookmarked each of these dealer/other sites & compare OTD pricing:
Suncoast (https://www.suncoastparts.com)
Silver Spring (https://www.getporscheparts.com)
Sunset (https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/)
Marin (https://www.porschemarinparts.com)
Gaudin (https://www.gaudinporscheparts.com)
Delware (https://www.delawareporscheparts.com)
Harper (https://www.harperautoparts.com)
