Vehicle is currently in Southern California. Collector is selling only because the car cannot be registered in the state of CA. Shipping can be arranged.
This car is stock with a conversion to US Spec and S suspension upgrade, performed by the best in the business, Canepa. I've personally spoken with Bruce Canepa about this car and gotten the details on it.
Silver with the multiple colored seats were one of the more popular combinations for the comfort version of this vehicle. This car was originally delivered in Japan to a collector who purchased two. At the time of importation, the car had 2,395 km. The car was imported through the experts at Canepa. Canepa had VDO convert the odometer to US Spec and to show miles accordingly. Canepa is at the top of the class when it comes to restoration and conversion. They have also modified the suspension from the factory Komfort to a S equivalent.
2849CC flat six twin turbo
444hp @ 6500 RPM 369lb-ft @ 5500 RPM
One of the fastest production cars of the time. 0-60 in 3.6 seconds! Top Speed of 197 mph
One of the first cars with adjustable suspension, and TPMS
Porsche-Stuer Kupplung (PSK) all-wheel-drive system. The PSK system is considered to be one of the most advanced all-wheel-drive systems ever created.
First production car with hollow spoke magnesium wheels to save weight.
Car was originally priced at $225,000 even though it cost Porsche $500,000 to manufacture the car.
This was one of the pioneer builds by a car company to prove what they could do. This car paved the way for the modern supercars which have just now been able to match the performance of the 959.
Car is fully serviced and cared for. Service performed by European Performance Engineering (www.epe.com) An additional service is being performed to prepare the car for its new owner.
Overton Automotive Brokers is listing this car for the collector. This will be a private party transaction.
Please call 865-209-7387 for more information about this special vehicle.

I meant to clear that up in the reposting. Sorry. It can be registered in CA, but would take a lot of modification to the exhaust system to do so. This car is stock with a conversion to US Spec done by the best in the business, Canepa. I've personally spoken with Bruce Canepa about this car and gotten the details on it. They did upgrade the suspension to 959 S Specifications.

It can only be registered as a show vehicle with no more than 2,500 miles per year. Not a big deal since I doubt anyone would drive this thing more than that.

Since it is past the 25 year restriction, isn't the 2500 mile restriction lifted?

From my knowledge. California doesn't have the 25 year rule like the rest of the states do. We have some show vehicle option like mentioned earlier. Register it in Montana and drive it around CA. When I go to Monterey car week I see so many Montana plates. Seems to be very common practice.
