I wonder if we'll ever get past paint work being a major issue on used car values. I suspect that current techniques for repairs like the one on this car are so good as to make it irrelevant, but it's definitely not irrelevant to the used car buyer.

If you look at the shop bill you will see the bumper alone is close to 3k and the wheel is 4k. Parts are just really expensive. I personally saw the car when he brought it up here. Only reason the wheel was replaced was because there was about 1.5 inches of curb rash. Ill try to hunt down some pictures.

Bigger question is I have never been in a "minor" accident where the wheel was so bad it needed to be replaced. Sorry but this was more than a fender bender no matter what the cost of parts are. A bump in the bumper and a replace/repaint is no big deal in my book based on just how good shops are these days. This was way more than that. Good luck to the seller and glad you guys are just taking it on consignment. Good luck.

Any pictures of the damage and repair process? That might help some folks, Justin.

+3 on pics of damaged car. Muffler, heat shields, and taillights have been replaced, indicating more than some bumper damage. It would also validate the 'maybe the wheel was just curbed' claim.

Im working on it guys, stay tuned. When the car was dropped off I remember seeing the left side bumper tabs broken and cracked, and a cracked drivers tail light. No other visible damage really stood out but obviously from the body shop ticket there was more involved.

Nice car and good of you to publish the parts list, but you really should change the text of the ad, as it's more that a little misleading. That's a lot more than a minor bumper repair.
