I have decided to put my Porsche 993 up for sale after 3 years of ownership and enjoyment.
The car is a 1996 Carrera 4, Guards Red on Black with 6spd manual that I have done my best to turn into a 993 RS tribute. While the car does have 134,xxx miles, the overall condition is immaculate and the car presents very well. It looks like it has less than half the mileage that it does. It is obvious it has been well cared for its entire life. I have put a lot of research into creating an RS tribute and have something that while not a real RS, drives much different than a standard 993 and feels very special.
Stacks of paperwork dating back to the early 2000’s. Major service @ 90k miles. The car still wears all original paint (minus the front bumper, front lip, and rear wing) in excellent condition. It has never been in any accidents and has a clean history report. There are a couple small stone chips on the hood, but I’m nitpicking here. Otherwise no dings or dents.
The aircooled engine sounds great and the car is quick. (I have to mention the sound of a 993 in 3rd gear at high RPM’s with a drilled airbox and no cats is one of my all time favorites) . All maintenance is up to date with a recent oil change performed a couple months ago. The bottom of the engine is a little wet around the timing chain area, but it does not drip any oil (even in winter storage). Oil consumption is good and I’ve hardly ever had to add any between oil services.
The AC and heat work great. The car does have a stereo that uses just an AUX cord to stream audio from a smart phone, no head unit to keep it looking as minimal as possible. Although a head unit could be easily fitted.
I have installed the following RS inspired modifications; all modifications have 6k or less miles on them:

While the car is very clean and well maintained there are a couple things to point out …
-The front windscreen is original to the car and does have some pitting and a couple tiny chips. There are no cracks.
-There is a small bubble in the paint at the lower windscreen on the DS, a common issue seen on these cars. It isn’t noticeable unless you're looking for it. I have been watching the area closely since I purchased 3 years ago and it has remained unchanged.
-The sunroof is currently stuck in the closed position after it had failed closing recently.
-This car came with the "basket handle" third brake light which was removed from the rear deck lid, so there are a couple small holes in it which are covered with a small piece of red vinyl. I planned to have the holes filed and the decklid painted, but they dont stand out much and I didn't want to paint over the car’s original paint.
Originally a California car, it spent a short time in Florida before I finally bought it in October 2013 and brought it to Chicago. When I purchased it from a private collector in Florida it was all stock besides a couple small additions. Over the past few years I had worked on building it into a 993 RS tribute. Due to the many RS items and aftermarket improvements, the car now drives and behaves very different than a standard 993 mainly thanks to the loss of weight and the overhauled suspension.
My goal was to create something as close as possible to the $300k+ 993 RS we were deprived of here in the US. It was to recreate the RS experience the best I could without sacrificing comfort. I wasn’t trying to create a hardcore race car, but a focused and raw street car that was tons of fun to drive through town or on the back roads, which it is!
I am located about 60 miles south of Chicago, IL
Price: $57,000. Please PM with interest. More photos coming soon. Thank you.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate it.
Just wanted to add some more info that I have been getting questions about..
According to my records the car has not had a top or bottom end rebuild. Despite the mileage, the motor does not exhibit any signs of needing additional maintenance or rebuild. The oil consumption is very good. I'm adding a quart every 2k+ or so miles. The car doesn't drip any oil, and power is there throughout all gears and all rev ranges. I run Mobil 1 15w-50 oil only.
At 95k the engine and transmission were removed and inspected. The ignition cables and spark plugs were done at this time. Timing chain housing was resealed. Exhaust system, rear sheet metal, PS pump, chain covers, chain sprockets, guide rails, and chain housings. Replaced gaskets and o rings, everything cleaned and reassembled. Replaced seals and guide rails as needed. The 95k service is one of the bigger ones done to the car. The ignition cables are still showing no signs of wear.
Clutch and flywheel were both changed @ 49k. At the 95k service it was noted that they were inspected and both in acceptable condition. I can say that there is no sign of clutch wear or slippage when driving the car at the current mileage. Gearbox fluid was changed last year.
Belts were last done @ 125k
Brakes were refreshed @ 115k. Rotors, pads, and pad sensors. Brakes are still in great shape. Very minimal rotor wear.
Some original parts will come with the car.
I have a clear title in hand along with 2 keys.
The car is still in the original factory AWD configuration. Nothing has been touched here.
I have taken the car to Midwest Eurosport in Joliet, IL a couple of times for maintenance as well as Performance Eurowerks in Buffalo Grove, IL for installation and refresh of the suspension.
I have attached a picture of the vehicle history report, option code under the hood, certificate of authenticity from Porsche, engine bay area, rear interior area, and the underside engine area.

The small paint bubble. As I mentioned in the first post.. It isn’t noticeable unless you're looking for it. I have been keeping an eye on the area closely since I purchased 3 years ago and it has remained unchanged.
