Default 1986 944 Turbo w/ Chris White built 2.7L

Year: 2018
Make: Porsche
Model: 0
Cont. Porsche Models: 944 Turbo
Mileage (numbers only please): 142800
Color: Red
Price (no $ sign please): $16000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): SouthEast
Body Style: Coupe
Transmission Type: Manual - 5 speed
2 or 4 Wheel Drive?: 2 Wheel Drive
Engine Type: Fuel Injection
Stereo System: AM-FM CD

Sort of testing the waters with this car, seeing if someone is interested in buying it, or perhaps working some sort of trade. For those looking at rennlist on cell phones my asking price is $16,000 and the car is in Charlotte, NC.

I know that is a lot of money for an 1986 944 turbo with 142k on the odo, but this isn't your average 951. This car has a Chris White built 2.7L with all the go fast goodies. I believe if you had Chris build this same motor today it would cost a good bit north of my asking price.

But lets start with the basics:
- Red exterior: solid 10 footer, there are some rub through spots on the paint, but but the body has great shut lines, and still shines up nicely.
- Black interior: 8.5 out of 10, sport seats, crack free dash, good carpet, I only bring it down 1.5 because it shows wear, but better than the miles and age might suggest. Note that the clock is broken in the pictures, just replaced it this morning.
- OEM fuchs with brand new Bridgestone RE-11 tires
- LSD Transaxle
- Working AC, converted to R134
- Manual steering rack, will provide power rack to buyer if desired
- Manual sun roof, will provide power sunroof parts if desired

Now the engine
- 2.7L from 2.5L block with Darton MID sleeves
- Wossner 8:1 104mm bore pistons
- TEC S standalone computer
- Custom trigger wheel
- T04e 60-1 Turbo
- SFR hardpipes
- Tail blowoff valve
- 72 lb Siemens injectors
- Wide band 02 (Prosport)
- Fresh timing belt / water pump (summer of 2016)
- Running 15 lbs of boost

I have had this car for 18 months, and I have barely driven it. I try to get it out every now and then to keep everything fresh, but the car needs to be driven, and I think I want to focus on my other 951, and bring something else into the garage.

That brings me to trades, or cars I might look at in trade:
Porsche Boxster S / 914 / 924S / 996? / Stock 951
Datsun 240 / 260 / 280
BMW E28 / E36 M3 / E36 M3 / E39 M5
GTI 5 door
Volvo 850R / V70R
Mercedes W107

Depending on car / condition / etc cash might be needed on either side of a trade of course.

Doc,

Very good question, and one I do not have the answer to. The car was tuned with the WB02, and to my knowledge has never been on a dyno. The AFR plots are good, and the car pulls hard, so for my use I didn't feel it was nessesary to put her on the dyno.

If I had to guess based on past cars I have had, and other dyno sheets posted to rennlist, maybe 325 / 325 at current boost levels. But that is a RWAG (Random Wild *** Guess) and should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

JDH,

Paint is not all original, what % of paint is, I am not sure. If you are looking for all original, this is not the car. In the records I have for the car I can see that the front end was repainted about a decade ago, other than that there is no mention in the records of paint work being done, but the records are not complete so it is anyone's guess.

Vmotion,

Easy drive to Charlotte from Raleigh.

F_59,

The suspension is a comfortable street setup with Sachs front struts, Koni rear shocks, stock springs / t-bars, and M030 sway bars. After taking these pictures I realized the rear is sitting a little low, so I plan on adjusting the eccentric bolts to bring it up about a half inch.

Need to add one car to the potential trade list that makes sense only to me, bone stock 944 turbo. Could get creative with this too as far as pricing goes if I could keep some of the parts (sport seats / fuchs / even LSD).

Can I ask what is the issue with the engine (if any) that you would willingly go back to a completely stock 944T?

OBX,

You didn't miss it, I had just forgotten to include it, the motor was built in November of 2011.

Achman,

No issue with the motor. I have two modified 951s, and for some reason in my head that does not make sense. Having one stock, and one modified works for me. If this car does not sell, then I might test the waters with the other one (but it needs a little work right now).
