I have not been able to determine when the motor was replaced. I did hunt down service records from two dealerships where the car was serviced by the previous owners (I am the third owner) as well as a car fax but no mention of the motor swap.
I understand PCNA is very tight lipped about the warranties on the 996's so do not believe they will be a source of information.
As a point of reference - I changed the oil last weekend and the filter had zero debris - and has been the same for the previous three oil changes (every 5K miles).

First let me say that I think the car is a fair value even if the motor has NOT been replaced. With that in mind, and that no record of motor replacement exists in the factory service records how did you find out the motor had been replaced?

I had a PPI done when I bought the car and was informed that the motor was not original. I believe the factory replacement motors have a unique identifier in the serial number (AT?). The current motor serial # is: M96/03SAT66575201
The mechanic did confirm it was the correct motor for the car (345 HP).
