Mileage seems low to require a rebuild. Was it done as part of an IMS fix?

Root cause was never determined. The engine started consuming oil very quickly and developed a rattle. Porsche service ran some diagnostics and said the engine wasn't good any more, so I had the engine rebuilt since in-depth diagnostics would cost about as much. There were some overrevs very early in the engine's life so that might have been the cause, but it's somewhat inconclusive as the oil issue developed many years later.

Engine runs perfectly in the 5K miles and one year since rebuild.

Was the IMS bearing replaced with a serviceable one during the rebuild?

IMS bearing was replaced, but not with a more serviceable one I believe.
