1996 Porsche 993, Twin Turbo C4S, 31k miles, Arena Red, Black Interior
This is a C4S that was converted to twin turbo by Proto Tech. There is over 60k invested in the upgrades. The result is a car that makes more horsepower, is more responsive and more fun to drive than it's factory counterpart. I should know I sold one to build this 6 years ago. Sample dyno shown was at 6psi wastegate springs only. Currently tuned to 600HP at 10psi of boost with Greddy EBC & race fuel, potential for 700hp+ with E85. I can discuss optional fuel/power tunes with potential buyers. 415-515-9018 Tom

GLWS, Looks to be a fine example with desirable mods.

Thanks for all the positive responses guys! This car was done right from top to bottom. This is a chance to own a 993 turbo for short money. I expect it will only appreciate thus making cost of ownership/enjoyment nothing over time. What other appreciating asset can you drive and enjoy?

Interested parties should reach out and discuss any concerns about the car. I think most look at the car as a bastard child. Sure it's not a pure virgin garage queen OEM turbo with stock wheels etc. It was built to create the best possible 993 driving experience. The Garrett GT2860's (disco potato) are known for being some of the best turbos ever made. The stock C4S VRAM motor has larger port heads, bigger cams, twin plugs, larger valves and 3 stage resonance intake over the turbo motor. Unlike the newer Porsches the 993 C4S shared the same basic mezger engine design for both turbo and NA cars. All of that results in a MUCH better foundation for a turbo build.

I am not some 20 year old fast and furious type kid who cobbled together a turbo kit on his 993. The kit was built/designed by John at Prototec. He is well regarded in the Lambo circles for his twin turbo creations. I took the project one step further by having the stock motor reinforced/rebuilt with upgraded internals with a well regarded Porsche engine builder.

The car is a steal at 90k. I welcome perspective buyers to drive a factory turbo and then mine. Regardless of mods to the turbo the driving experience can't be compared.

There has been a LOT of interest and many ask about stock parts. I don't have ANY of them. I was told by one buyer the seat are a major turn off. I think it was one of the best mods I've ever done. I did plan to re-cover them with leather/alcantera at one point but that never happened. Don't let those turn you off. Factory leather Recaro Pole Positions will bolt right info the current side mounts and have a RS type look.

We chose stock forged NA 11.2 pistons for the build. In reality they are close to 10.5CR. We chose them for several reasons.

1:The new cams close the intake valve later. This results in lower dynamic compression. It's standard fare to bump compression in built motors to recover lost compression due to later closing intake. The new dynamic number is closer to 9:1CR.

2: The raised edges of the NA pistons create a better quench band for the motor. The HEMI style porsche head has terrible squish and need all the help it can get. With the NA pistons the mixture is forced into a smaller area away from the cylinder walls (this is what modern heads do too) which results in a more complete burn when combined with the twin plugs.

By combining high compression/low boost with longer duration cams you get a broader power band. The ultra flat torque curve you see on the dyno sheet is the result of a well planned combination.

Thanks for the reply. That's all really good information and it sounds like a very mature approach to the power goals. Building it with discretion rather than the low compression, massive boost sledgehammer approach.

Are the stock interior pieces included?

Might consider some additional photos of the interior. Beautiful car. GLWS.
