Although I have been pining for an M491 911 for almost thirty years, I have only recently become a serious, cash in hand, buyer. HUGELY regrettably, I very narrowly missed out on both a white '87 cabrio and a black '89 coupe (<- legitimate holy grail / dream car) that sold over the past 14 days, in the first case by minutes and the other by a couple days. My search continues.
Please let me know if you have or know of any cars that might be available. Alternatively, please keep me in mind if you see anything come available on the market.
Thanks in advance.
Yours in the bonds,

No, I could never do that. At 1,825 pounds it's just such the perfect tool for the job track car, I could scarcely see ever replacing it. As much as would love a 311 (introduced at Goodwood yesterday), I don't have a trailer / tow rig.
I did take a students Cayman GTS PDK for a session at Laguna last week. Great car, would be a perfect street car and occasional light-medium duty track car, but it was nowhere near as raw as my Lotus. For "heavy-duty" track work the Lotus experience is tough to beat for me. Certainly at anything even remotely near the Lotus's acquisition & running costs.
I'd love a GT4, but I'm focused on finding a G50 M491 that will only be used for occasional drives, shows, PCA stuff, etc.

Still looking!
I've inspected three cars the past month. All have their own issues. I might revisit one as appropriate, but still looking in the interim.
