I bought this car new in 1985 (August, as I recall) - I have all the receipts from when it was new to now. I had given it to my brother, who died last year, and now I have too many cars. The car runs well, and I have done a lot of repair work recently to make it drive pretty well. I have done the following:

1. new ball joints (Renbay)
2. distributor cap, rotor, OEM wires, plugs
3. fixed several damaged vacuum lines
4. body and paint (I haven't had time to polish the clear coat)
5. new Cat, so it passed California smog with plenty of margin
6. new front tires
7. bled brakes and clutch cylinders so fluid is new
8. oil/filter
9. odometer gear (so odometers work)
10. AC high pressure hose

starter and steering rack were changed recently, transmission is a unit that was new in a factory box. Brakes are good. it has after marked electric door locks that work, but they are not connected, the remote entry device / alarm went bad and started draining the battery about 8 years ago so I removed the device and wiring, the actuators are still in the door. I have the OEM key lock switch, and a new remote entry box is under $30 from your favorite auto parts place.

This would make a nice daily driver, I'd love for it to find a nice home

Here is what it needs:
1. windshield is cracked, should be replaced
2. rear shocks seem weak
3. AC front seal leaks, AC works well for about a month then it needs to be recharged. I have spare pump which I can install for you
4. interior is dirty (my brother never cleaned it), so it needs attention. pass seat is OK, driver's seat has a tear in the bolster (that's why it has seat covers on it)

will consider offers, but I know what I can part it out for and I know what I can sell the Fuchs wheels for based on some past sales of wheels in much worse condition.

I'd say at that $$ it'd be best to part out. GL

dont part it out! An original owner car that is complete shouldn't be parted out. I may be in the market for one of these, its a good deal for someone.

2MaN - I'm just north of you by about 40 minutes - PM me if you are interested. I drove this car everywhere, with family inside - to Canada, up and down the coast, across the rockies, to Carlsbad Caverns, and so on - but it needs a new owner with the time and energy to finish fixing it up - I haven't set the price at scrap yard prices, you can certainly get a car with the same mileage cheaper, but I know every inch of the car and exactly what has been done to it since new. Most of the miles were freeway miles, mostly commuting to and from Fullerton in fact

The gauge cluster is what came on the car when I bought it new. I don't remember what makes a turbo cluster different, but I can assure you that this cluster is original and correct for this car

the car is now sold, which is sort of bitter sweet after 30 years. I hope the new owner cars for it and fixes it up, but it's out of my hands. Thank you Porsche for 30 years of fun -
