Located in Flemington, NJ

Up for sale is my 1977 911S. It was originally sold and serviced by Holbert Porsche, until I purchased it from the original owner's family in 1998. I spent a few years upgrading the car, with each modification heavily researched and meticulously implemented. The build was completed in 2004/2005 when the 1997 3.6 varioram engine was professionally installed. During that time, most of the bearings, bushings, clutch, and other wearable items were replaced, with no expense spared during the upgrade. I tracked the car for a few years during the build, and stopped doing events in 2006. Since then, the car has seen light duty with weekend drives and the like. It has been garage kept its entire life, and I have a thick stack of receipts of all work since 1998. Records prior to that date (from new) are in Holbert Porsche's system. The car has ~151k miles, and about 12k miles since the 3.6 conversion in 2005.

Two things that need to be addressed are the sunroof and the speedometer. The sunroof needs the cable fix, but the motor and switch work fine. The speedometer was erratic, and I narrowed the issue down to the magnetic carrier ring in the differential. I recently tried to re-magnetize the magnets on the carrier ring, but my efforts worsened the situation, and it needs a new carrier plate to get to speedometer reporting correctly. This is probably about 3 hours of labor, plus the part. The front valence could stand a repaint since it takes the brunt of the assault from the road. Otherwise, the car's condition is apparent from the photos.

Between the color and the exhaust note, the car turns heads. It pains me to sell it, but I'm at a different place in life and the car simply doesn't get driven as much as it should. An overview of the car is below, and I have detailed records for each line item. I hope the new owner enjoys and appreciates the car as much as I have over the past 15 years. Higher quality pictures available upon request.

So I met Rob the other day and his gorgeous car. First of all let me tell you he is a super nice guy and will talk about the car for hours same way I do about mine. I have no affiliation to him besides the fact that he is local guy and was nice enough to make time to show me the car and go for a ride. The car is described very well and from spending the time looking briefly over it and taking it for a ride I'd say someone will be getting a steal. As someone who looked for an aircooled car for a bit I have driven a few "older" cars and lets just say this was nothing like it. The car started right up with no smoke, suspension was tight and even though we drove over some not so pristine roads she stayed planted and wasn't super stiff or bone jarring but firm with great steering response.Oh ya and when you give her a poke she is very rev happy and pulls great. In closing I hope to have made a new friend at the same time I hope the car sells sooner then later so I don't have to file for divorce . Rob we will have to swap cars for the day/weekend when the black beauty comes back.

Thanks blockhed, I always love meeting another car guy, especially a Porsche car guy. I look forward to driving that monster Twin Turbo of yours!

I have a couple of requests for a video, so I'll put one together over the next few days. In the meantime, higher resolution photos can be found at this link, as the image quality was crushed when downsized for the forum post.

Also, here are a few links to old threads on portions of the build:

Exhaust
Front Cooler

Suspension (further work was done after this thread)

This is clearly not my best work, but
shows the car in motion, along with a taste for its exhaust note. Be sure to kick the quality up to HD, in settings. The quality is a bit degraded on the youtube link, and I'm happy to drop a better version in a dropbox folder for anyone interested.

Thank you for all of the interest in the car, it has been sold and will soon be tearing up the streets and tracks in California.
