That's a nice looking 996. Like the way it looks in white with the clear headlights. Does the new engine have the larger IMS bearing by chance? GLWS.

Default Question

I see red brake calipers. Were these upgraded or just painted red? Also, it looks like you have the corresponding Aero Front Bumper cover with the side skirts and rear MK1 Aero Wing. Is that correct? Nice car and close to me too!

Yes on SS, but the tips are from Vertex, not the Fabspeeds.

I have never seen this at the track. Must be your strret machine. You should take more about the new motor, reman or not, as that alone is worth the price of the car.

You're right Alex, my track toy is my M3. New motor is just breaking in at 20K miles, courtesy of our friend Lutz who also cares for it

Well if Lutzo installed the crate motor 20K miles ago then this is an awesome deall for someone. I should buy it as my track car is the same but 2001. I replaced my motor about three years ago with Lutzo as well. At that time, the crate motor was $8200. Now I hear they are north of $18000. And for those who know, the 3.4L NA engine is the best performer of the M96 motors.

Phil at eurofinish is repainting a 1997 993 I recently purchased, so I am good to go on street cars. I have been documenting the process here: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...repainting+993

absolutely right! I also prefer the lighter weight of the 3.4 996. Much more direct and no electronic nannies, but then I don't like electronic nannies :-)
