I have been informed that I need to get down to 4 cars prior to my wedding in September, so my project Cayman is going up for sale.
By far the cheapest clean title 987 Cayman for sale in the US.
Obviously the car has high miles (owner #3 used it as a commuter) and there is an accident reported on the Carfax from 2013.
The repair (to the driver door, I was told) seems to have been done decently well, especially since the paint on the entire car is such that it's a 10-footer.
The worst spot on the exterior is a small dent in the hood, pictured below, and the interior shows typical 987/997 wear to the soft touch paint.
Everything works (AC/Heat/Radio/etc.) although I have deleted the TPMS using a Durametric (because I like changing wheels on my cars!)
I bought the car a year or so ago, (I've driven it about 5,000 miles) but got distracted by life and never finished it - here's what I did and what I think needs to be done:
I replaced the battery and AOS preventatively as the former was old and the latter had unknown mileage. I did new pads all around and new front rotors. I put on 4 new tires, new air and cabin filters, oil and filter change with Mobil 1 5w40.
The car will occasionally throw a CEL for P0431, Warm Up Catalyst Below Efficiency, Bank 2. It clears with a scantool and often doesn't return for a while (the car passed NYS inspection).
It seems to be related to cat degradation (the cats look to be original), so I sourced two low-mileage headers/cats and new OEM exhaust gaskets, but never put them in. They're included.
I'm also pretty sure that the car needs coil packs (as the records show they were last replaced 50k miles ago) so I bought 6x Bosch coilpacks (the upgraded ones) and spark plugs. Also included, along with some low mileage lower control arms to put on, etc.
