Hi All,

I'm looking for an old, but in solid structural and engine condition, Mercedes 300D, 300CD, or 300SD. This will be a project for my 8-yr old son and me. Looking for solid engine and structure, but paint and interior condition aren't as important. Doesn't need to be pretty, but no Fred Flintstone floorboards or panels, or basket case rat nests. Want a good base for a solid runner. Wanting something where we can do jobs like brakes, adjust valves, spiff it up on interior and exterior, fix A/C, limited bodywork, you get my drift. Fan of the W116, W123, and W126. If you know of any decent cars in the Dallas/ North Texas area, please let me know. Not really wanting to ship from afar on this one. Prefer turbo on the 300D but will consider earlier NA 300D and 240D. Not interested in 1986+ models.

The listing didn't have an option for "sedan" or "automatic" hence had to go with what I did. A manual W123 (240D) would be considered as well.

Looking to spend around $3K but budget is somewhat flexible either way for the right (or wrong) car
