So if I am correct I cannot get the tax credits because I am not the original owner correct? So in theory this car is about $26.5K over MSRP ($43,500 MSRP- can't count CA. tax and reg because I have to pay that, minus the $10K credit I will not get = $33,500?)? I see many of them coming for sale and I am interested but trying to obviously find the best deal. Because you cannot go and configure one it is tough to tell the MSRP, unless of course the seller shares.

There seems to be some misinformation about government incentives that I'd like to clear-up:

• You cannot get any California incentive, unless you commit to keeping the car for 3 years.
• The Federal tax credit can only be claimed by the original owner, IF he/she owes enough taxes, the car is not exported within 3 years, it's not converted to a gas car within three years, and a few other restrictions. Tax credit can't be claimed, until the tax return is filed for the purchase year.

I have not claimed any incentives for this car, and intend to sell it at market price. My personal tax situation is not relevant here.

If you depend on the incentives, you can order a new Model 3. However, it currently takes about 12-18 months for new orders, and Federal tax incentives will likely no longer be available by that time.
