Awning mounting question
I bought a huge awning off someone that included everything but the mounting bolts/screws. Below is a pic of the type of awning I have. I am looking to install the brackets to the trailer this weekend but could use some help determining what bolts or screws I should use. I believe I was told the prior owner used bolts that after drilling a small hole, self-tapped into the steel studs in the wall. I was thinking of going all the way through and using bolts and nuts with a small backing plates. I dunno. I have searched the internets and cannot find any info. I called the awning manufacturer and no one answered. I thought I might post here just to see if anyone has a picture of what to use. Anyone have any experience installing one of these things?

thru bolting is always best just don't over torque
self taping screw or bolts tend to work loose going down the road.
I have also see some people put square pieces of alum in from of the mounting hardware to keep it from denting the panels when they bolt it up.
Looks like a nice set up
