Towing a 24' trailer with a Class A or C RV - pros and cons?
#16
I am pulling a steel enclosed 24 foot trailer with a 34' class A with the 5.9 cummins (only 300 hp). I live in the mid-west so most of my trips are on pretty flat ground. The unit pulls great but it is a little slow on the big hills. The weak point on the lower horsepower units seems to be the transmission.
As far as how towing is with the class A, it is awesome. The visibility is excellent in the pusher and even though it is longer than my pickup truck, it seems to maneuver just as well. I think the trailer actually tracks better with the RV. With the air ride and the super comfortable driving seat I just don't seem to get tired like I do in the pickup. I can easily do a 10 hour trip by myself, with only a few "pit stops" and the best thing is I don't ever need to find a rest area. I have even started using it to pull to my local track that is only a little over an hour away because it is so comfortable.

towed it to 4 events already. Always averaged 14mpg overall at 65mph. Funny thing is that driving at 75-80 I get 16-17 only 🥵
I think the trailer is shorter, maybe 20’ (22.5 per the website)

The 24' references is usually measured without tongue length. normally square deck only.

I recommend that you read the manufacturer's recommendations because they usually specify the maximum permissible towing weight. If you suddenly try to tow more than the allowed weight, there is a good chance that you will do a lot of damage. I love traveling with friends in RV. Every year we purposely take a weekend at the same period to take a trip. This year I am choosing where we will go, and I think we will stop here https://jasminebreezerv.com/reviews/ as the reviews for this park are very good.
