75MPH rated 215/75R17.5 trailer tires?
Does anyone have a tire they really like in this size that's rated for 75MPH? We've got a triple-axle Pace GT stacker that holds 3 cars.
We just had a blowout on the way back from VIR. The tire wasn't even 4 years old based on the date code.
We tried Conti's HTL2, but it didn't deal well with the scrub on the front axle on our triple axle trailer. The sidewall was being torn apart, and at Conti's request we moved them to the center axle where they seem to be OK, but I'd expect better from a $400 tire.
We have 3 Firestone FS560s on the trailer and they seem to be doing great, but Firestone discontinued them and they're not 75MPH rated, either.

Add me to that. 4 years old tires are waiting to ruin your day. Friend had 5 of 6 go at different times on the way to the track once. They had 2 spares. And a ton of cell calls. Mine are toast with plenty of tread but timed out. Trailer will spend the winter on them with new sneakers for the spring.

Goodyear Enduro, 16" E rated, TPMS and I use tire covers whenever its parked for any length of time. 2 new tires every year, put those on the driver side. Move the 2 that were there from the driver side to the pass side and put those 2 in the trailer as spares. The old spares get tossed. Kind of a PIA but even the oldest tires are still good.

The original query was about 17.5" trailer tires, which are a different beast.
That said, it's probably a good time for an update. The last pair of Firestone FS560 on the trailer aged out this spring, so I replaced them with another pair of Conti HTL2. While they look weird on the inside when they scrub, we have some that have been on the trailer since 2017 and they've been good. The sad thing is the HTL2 are now more than $100 each more expensive than the last time we bought them.
