Default Cross Turismo owners: how's the back seat?

Aloha all,

I think the clutch is going on my S4 and it's time to consider a new daily. I've been eyeing the CT since its release as a lifelong Porsche fan and hatchback/wagon fan.

One mandatory feature to convince me to replace the Audi would be adequate leg room behind the driver's seat for an adult to sit comfortably. I'm about 6'5, so my seats are usually 90-100% extended.

Anyone happen to have a photo of the back seat with the driver's all the way back? Or some simple anecdote?

Appreciate your time!
Jeff

I saw your other thread in the Macan section. I had a Macan and was originally looking at the Taycan as a replacement, with an important focus on additional rear space for family use. I sat in a Taycan and it felt even smaller than the Macan. I am 6'1" and it wasn't going to work. I ended up with a Panamera with 2+1 rear seats. Although its a big car (still getting used to it), I found the room I was looking for without having to go to a bigger SUV like the Cayenne.

Glad to share the journey with someone! Were you looking at the CT? Or the sedan? Google seems to think that the CT has better back seat legroom, but I'm more inclined to trust humans.

A child would fit comfortably but not an adult or forward facing car seat. The taycan is a very big car but its interior space is not that large. Also legroom is identical in sedan and cross turismo. You only gain headroom in the CT.

The CT and sedan have same legroom but the CT has nearly 2" more rear headroom. Both are still cramped. If you want an EV sedan that has lot's of legroom and live in USA then consider Lucid Air.

This is helpful as I'm debating Macan replacements. I have a toddler, so a front facing seat is needed. My wife isn't very tall, and things work well enough in our current Macan. I'm debating another gas Macan vs Macan EV vs Taycan CT vs...something else?

I looked at the sedan, I gave up on the CT after seeing the sparse CPO inventory in my area.

I thought about all of those and the Macan EV has slightly more room and may be worthwhile to take a look. For me, there's one bad angle I can't unsee on the Macan EV and coupled with the software issues and depreciation/residual values, I'll wait it out until the next generation.

The latest Cayenne coupe is very nice but I wanted something that handled at least as well as the Macan and wasnt going to pay up for the higher trims. The latest gen Panamera had it all for me and luckily we just transitioned our daughter to a booster so I didn't have to worry about messing up those nice back seats too much with a car seat. The 2+1 rear seat option helped there to make the decision as it's not very child-friendly with the large center console and only two rear seats.

Tesla Model S LR/Plaid have far more accommodating rear seats than any Taycan, and far more cargo space too. Might be worth a look.

Unfortunately I'm also working with old house garage constraints. I think the Panamera might just be a bit too long to fit, whereas a Macan/Cayenne work. Maybe I should look in to Cayennes again. If I'm honest, whenever I've driven a Cayenne I've felt the size in comparison to the Macan, and I didn't like it.

Yup, I'm just about maxed out in my garage, I took the Macan's wheelbase for granted. The feel was the trade off for why I held off on the Cayenne. Aside from the extra back seat room (which was really nice even in the coupe) the Cayenne would feel too close to the Macan as another SUV, but with a 1,000 pound weight penalty and heftier feel.
