Wouldn't that be covered under the 8 year factory warranty?

I believe only the battery is covered not the motors, charging system, inverters, etc.

What’s the current advice on Taycan extended warranties? I have a ‘22 and warranty is up in 12/25. I know that I want to extend the warranty and plan to keep the car for at least as long as I can keep it under warranty. I drive about 5,000 miles/year. Current mileage is 17,000. I’ve gotten numbers from my local dealer. Do I understand correctly that these are aftermarket warranties, some with the Porsche name attached? How do you shop for better pricing? Thanks.

In a turn of events, the P LV dealer has just submitted a repair order for warranty work... the parts are 30% higher than what they have on their website of course, but it looks like they're loosening up over there.

Update: Turning them to Trophy, labor hours were inflated by about 100% as well.

That’s good news. Hopefully that was Gaudin as that dealership is closest to me.

Ehh... after diagnosing the entire repair order, it looks like they're about $2,600 heavy.

So what happens in that scenario where the dealership is charging beyond what is reasonable and customary?

3 Options:

1. We push back with screenshots of the proper OEM repair rates/time (the public does not have access to this), repair center accepts it.
2. We move the repair to another dealer or trusted independent in town that has no problem completing the repair for the OEM repair rates/time.
3. Customer pays out of pocket the difference.

I push for option 1 or 2 and assist in all ways possible for my warranty customers, however some customers are fine with paying the difference however I really emphasis there are other options for them.

Any benefit to buying the extended warranty earlier than later?

Yes. Age, milage, vehicle purchase date, remaining factory warranty are all a factor when it comes to warranty coverage. There can be be a couple thousand dollars in savings for the same time/milage of extended warranty coverage when being pro-active in the purchase of the coverage. Send me an email, we can see how you're looking!
