Keep my 4 year old 4s or take some equity and move on

Is there actually any difference in the batteries for the different model years of the first gen Taycan? I thought it was just software updates for the 2022 models, that were then rolled out to the older models. Isn’t the cell packaging and chemistry identical?
I would sell the car. As I am learning the hard way the older battery design has the potential for cells to go bad. My 2020 4S has been at the dealer for two weeks awaiting battery removal and repair.
UPDATE: Porsche is going to replace my battery with a new one. Improved design hopefully, not as improved as the 2025 Taycan. Battery warranty continues from my in service date, it doesn't reset unfortunately.

There was that batch that had defective sealant which had potential to cause moisture ingress issues. That was supposedly just a batch there late ‘22 to early ‘23, and they identified and fixed any with the issue, so really shouldn’t matter. That’s not really what you’re asking though. To your question, I don’t think there are any design or hardware changes to the battery/controller/charger system though; like you said it’s been just software AFAIK.

Post 31 of this thread would lead one to believe that the 2020 batteries were less reliable
