Hi there, any real difference or just the launch control?

here is a product matrix from a preso I attended last week - it doesn't list the 4 specficifically - but I would guess the only difference is software tuning mostly in regards to launch control and standard features

no this presentation was a Taycan clinic for new owners - for the existing .1 product - nothing about a .2 was discussed or even hinted at.

this was a comparision of drive train differences between various models in the current Taycan line up.

I had a 4S, now have a 4CT. The 4S was faster from a dig and a roll, moreso the launch though. It feels software limited. Still plenty quick as a daily.

I have a CT4 and have driven all the lineup, they all feel similar around town, plenty of grunt off the line. The GTS+ keep pulling hardest after about 50-60 where the 4 eases up a bit.

They all feel fast compared to most ICE cars.

So the 4S is worth the extra $$k?

Up to you to decide. Apart from more power, and red caliper paint, the hardware is identical. Happier with my higher spec'd CT4 than I was with my fairly base 4S.

Does rear wheel steering ruin the driving fluidity? That is, makes the car more nervous on twisty roads?

No, it does not.

Having had RAS, I wouldn’t own a Taycan without it.

Same. Had one without and now one with. Would order it again, makes the car feel smaller and more agile.

I think the opposite is true.

Having RWS makes the car less nervous and twitchy.

I'm putting a plug for the base Taycan RWD- I found this to be as quick as the 4S around town / 20 mile work commute in mixed driving and the front end feels lighter and more responsive. Just installed 20" rims and snow tires and should be good to go for the Chicago winters. $25K off MSRP for a CPO'ed '23 with 6K miles made it a slam dunk IMO-

FXZ-

None of the above. Just some creature comforts including premium + tech pkgs, heated this and that, 21" RS spyder rims- MSRP $110Kish. It really depends on your use / intent- I honestly could not appreciate a difference between a loaded 4S vs the base RWD under most real-world driving conditions. Granted, if the Taycan was my only driver, I might go for the GTS / Turbo "just because". That said, so far after 6 weeks and 1500 miles, I can honestly say the Taycan RWD is my favorite daily driver to date and has not left me wanting for more power or better handling...OK, more range would be nice
