Took the Taycan in for some body work. Dropped off the car with 6800 miles on it. Picked the car up 2 weeks later and the total mileage was 7100. I figured someone drove my car. Body shop said no one drove the car. I checked the Porsche App and it said the car never moved in the 2 weeks it was at the body shop. How did the car add 300 miles and never move?

 

How can you be certain that the mileage was 6,800 when you left the car?

 

The Porsche app is not certified, the on car odometer is. Someone drove it 300 miles regardless what the shop or app says.

 

Yep. My thinking is someone put it into private mode and drove it. Quite a bit.

 

I wrote the mileage down and plus it was on the invoice. The invoice said "Mileage In 6800". Interesting thing was no "Mileage Out" on the invoice.

 

I wasn't aware you could do this with Private Mode. Thank you

Issue resolved. This is hard to admit but I was wrong and so was the body shop. 2 wrongs made a right. I transposed a number when I wrote the mileage down. The body shop wrote the mileage down when I brought the car in for a quote not when I dropped it off for repair. Embarrassing for both of us

 

The fact you can admit you made a mistake, puts you heads and heels above a lot of other people out there.
