While getting my 992 C4S serviced at the dealer yesterday, I made the mistake of test driving a Taycan 4S Sedan. It was absolutely amazing. I’d previously been a Tesla owner and based on several years of ownership decided that I was done with EVs for the time being. I appreciated the drivetrain on my Model S but everything else was pretty much crap. The Taycan drove like a damn Porsche and in many ways felt sharper than my 911.
I think looks and utility wise, I am considering putting my name down for a Cross Turismo 4S (I plan to keep my 992). The 4S Sedan I drove rode and handled incredibly well — it was spec’ed with PDCC, RWS, Sport Chrono. I may not have the opportunity to drive a CT before I order it, so I’ll ask the forum — How does the CT ride different than the sedan? I would be willing to option the car up with Performance items but I understand the CT rides 20mm higher at it’s lowest height as compared to the sedan. Is this difference noticeable? I would love for my CT to be as sharp as the sedan I drove.
Thanks in advance.
any differences between the two platforms (sedan vs. ct) is going to fractional and only "at the limits" - and I mean really honestly "at the limits" which are hard to imagine in any non-track scenario - and also once you are there you're not going to be there for very long because both cars lack the stamina to run "at the limits" due to weight, battery thermals, street tires, and over all power capacity - if you're at the limits you're pushing the battery very hard and it's limitations will come to the forefront…and again it will be the same for both vehicles.
there are undeniably differents between the two vehicles - they are not identical - but I think anyone under any normal driving screnario's would be hard pressed to find and notice such differences 99.999998% of the time - there are differences no doubt - but to say they are in the margins is a gross understatement.
I can take the newport coast to 73 north entrance, a long sweeping right hander with decreasing radius at 1.4g according to the onboard fun-o-meter and tires aren't even squealing. Car is unbelievable flat and stable. CT4. They handle good for being so heavy/big. Drives like a porsche.

I love the wagon looks.
You can compare how the sedan handles once I get my GTS and provide more detailed feedback.
super low CG, lots of torque instantly available with a telepathic accelerator pedal, sticky tires, wide stance, and porsche suspension is an intoxicating mixture.
EV's have the CG of a sports car, and the throttle response of the finest naturally aspirated engine - and full-linear torque on tap
it makes it near impossible to go back to even the best ICE vehicles - my Cayenne TurboS eHybrid is awesome - but throttle response vs. my Taycan - there is NO competition what so ever…
just sooo much good - both the CT and the Sedan are world class and will ruin you for other vehicles (unless they are also EV's).
I have a 991.2 GT3 and a CT4S – the CT handles incredibly well, and in most real-world conditions (especially in the UK at this time of year) is probably the quicker point-to-point car.
Did you physically look at the Cross Tourismo? At least to me, the view from the side is hideous. Look like mom and pop 60s coupe. Front and back are regular Taycan elegance.
Side profile of the Cross Turismo is hideous you say?
OK buddy, if you think so 🙄
To answer the OP's question: I own and drive a CT 4S but I've driven a 4S sedan with the same air suspension. Yes the sedan suspension settings are slightly lower than the CT at all height settings and the sedan suspension is slightly firmer and less compliant over rough road surfaces, but handling is a little sharper at the limit, however the CT handling is still no slouch in the firmest sport suspension settings and while it's not race track suspension stiff, in this car you don't really want it to be like that. Overall road comfort and compliance is somewhat improved over the sedan suspension on rough real world road surfaces making it a more balanced daily driver/road trip vehicle.
He may hate the breadvan, the m coupe, rs6 avant, Ferrari ff, etc He may be in the minority. This board, press, taycan forums, etc all love the design.

I grew up in the UK, so wagons (or estates as we called them) and hatchbacks were just the norm. Our family car when I was really young was a VW Variant, followed by a Saab 95. I found it so strange to encounter the intense dislike of them in North America.
There is something very sexy about a performance wagon. Maybe because they look ordinary or MOR but in fact are bulls. If I could afford one I'd get the CT GTS in Carmine Red, OMG that is hot
