Were You Able To Negotiate Additional Dealer Markup?

Also there are many who have posted about paying the ADM
Also the discussion about "Mothership is not pleased" helps. We need to let mothership know about ticket scalpers.

No, took delivery in January. Car was a dealer spec (good spec) CT4. Grabbed it with them in October right after the spec had locked. At the time all the dealerships around here had very long wait lists.

to answer the question of the post…
"Were You Able To Negotiate Additional Dealer Markup?"
why yes - yes I was - the dealer gladly took their ADM
seriously - no I didn't pay ADM in 2020 - I get mostly MSRP from my dealer because I'm a long term sucker…but I know some people pay ADM.

I wasn't actively looking for a Taycan but then someone posted about wanting to get out of their 2023 GTS allocation at MSRP that still had a week before the build locked so I grabbed it.

WOW! You should be in the business of negotiating auto purchases!!!!! I would think the Paint To Sample option would immediately take off the table any ability to negotiate price because suddenly the car is going to be a bit of an 'oddball'. (To be clear, I love the Paint To Sample colors. If a genie could wave a magic wand and get me the Taycan of my dreams this afternoon, it would be a Paint To Sample Taycan GTS Sport Turismo in Viola Metallic. But I would think those colors would make a dealer hesitant to negotiate.)

Yes. Yours is the deal I reference in my original post stating that someone a few months ago snagged a GTS allocation at MSRP. Lucky you! Congratulations!!!

No ADM here
My 2022 TaycanTS spec’d how I wanted it is on a boat right now steaming towards the Panama Canal. I identified my sales guy at nearest dealership (Porsche Marin, Mill Valley CA) back in May 2021 and indicated I would want to put a deposit down on a build before year’s end. I put down $5K in November 2021 without an allocation identified, with the understanding that allocations were tight for a while but were starting to loosen up. Sure enough, I got my build slot in Jan 2022. The agreement was for MSRP, no ADM, no discount. That has been my experience with my 2018 991.2 GTS Cab and earlier 911’s.
Thankfully my place in line was not too adversely affected by the Felicity Ace disaster. I felt sorry for those whose cars went to the bottom of the sea - but Porsche made good, I think, in prioritizing rebuilding those cars ahead of mine and many others. But as I already had dates for milestones my delay has totaled only about 2 months.
Given the balance of posts here, it seems if you are looking to jump on a car already built and either delivered or on its way, you may end up paying a premium. If you want to spec your own build, and are willing to wait the 9-10 months for it to be delivered, it seems MSRP is the right answer. But if some dealers are marking up on a spec’d car to be built I would follow the advice of some others and call around. Forget email, these guys seems a bit old fashioned and the phone is better. Even better is show up in person and let them see that you are serious.
Just my $0.02.
