Default Manual charge port doors - side door rock protection idea?

Question to owners without the power chart port cover doors (the manual door flaps).

How many of you have experienced rocks and gravel flying thru the air flow passages leading to rock damage on your doors?

Instead of going the more expensive route of installing PPF on the side doors I'm considering installing a some kind of fine weave mesh screen on the inner fender well areas covering the air flow channels, (similar to the material used in GT car front bumpers to protect the radiatiors).

What's your thoughts on this idea? 🤔

I live a mile plus down a gravel road and so far no rock issue with my CT. I guess you could cut a finer screen to fit in there if you think rocks will get through.

Suncoast sells the solid piece/insert that is on the power port equipped cars.

I’ve noticed debris in that vent area too. I have PPF so I never give it much thought.
