I think it's more guys that go for the Cross Country wagons, the Allroads, the Sport Turismos, and now the Cross Turismos. The housewives go more for SUVs -- at least in the luxury segment.
And, no, wagons will continue to out-sell 4-door sedans in Europe (at least amongst Porsches, Volvos, etc.).
That seems to be true at least for me. When we were thinking of replacing my wife's V60, the only wagons that I considered buying were the A6 Allroad, MB all terrain and the V90 CC. All lifted wagons but minimally. Ended up with the Volvo. Not an SUV guy.
One Audi dealer in NH wanted an markup of 5k over MSRP for a factory order of an A6 Allroad.
I mean it's a prototype covered in hideous cladding. Remember how everyone complained about the Taycan testers when the spy shots got posted?
I'm sure the end product will look fine.
Remember when everyone said the M3 / M4 couldn't possibly look as bad as it did camouflaged? And then it looked worse?
Also, remember when everyone complained about the 992 having a huge butt and a high rear deck, and the CHMSL on the rear deck looking stupid, and the front hood not lining up with the bumper looked odd and everyone said "it'll look better in the production form"....and then it really didn't and people are still saying they prefer the 991?
Really dislike the way BMW has gone, for me the E9X was the last hurrah. It will be interesting to see what it (Macan) looks like when we get closer and the wraps start coming off. Electrification has been a crap shoot in the styling department across brands and I'm hoping Porsche can avoid the ugly end of the spectrum.

Haha you definitely got me there. I don't know what kind of crack they're smoking in the design department over there. I realize the big grilles are supposedly a hit on the chinese market, but I think they went a little too far making the iX look like an asian caricature from a post-war Bugs Bunny cartoon.
In my opinion the first year of the Macan looked the best, as the front bumper hid the height of the hoodline somewhat. The newest facelift made the front look like it has a double chin, and gives the front a "taller" effect. They knocked it out of the park with the Taycan though, so I hope they can keep the trend going with the e-Macan.
I think it'll look fine, but I sure wish they'd give it a more functional hatch area. That slope makes it look like a Cayenne Coupe from the side. Maybe the Macan EV will be a Macan Coupe. Or maybe all Macans are like this and I hadn't noticed.

It's' all about aero. If you notice the profile of EV CUV's like the Mach E, the Model X and Y, now the Macan...they all look like an egg. Don't forget how much aero drag effects the effective range of an EV. I once saw my consumption increase by fully 1/3 by running into a 15-20 MPH headwind. That egg is the most efficient shape, but it's not good for styling or packaging.
I fear it's going to be a bit Mercedes EQ / Tesla Model X smooth blob-y in style. Smooth lines work with strong elements like the Taycan's wheel arches/hips, but on an SUV that just turns into blob. Especially in the 'sportback' body style.
They can make it look like a pile of **** and it’ll end up in my garage. Wife loves her macan and wants the ev.
i suspect this is a coupe version. It would be a shame to lose the rear utility with additional slope.

I can understand. For me, the worst part about a Macan is that the PDK is pretty rough in around town driving. It's wonderful when you're caning it, but if you're just doing the school run, it's pretty lurchy and laggy.
The current Macan with an EV drivetrain by Porsche would be sublime.

the more I swap between my taycan ct and my wife’s macan the more i dislike the macan. And i didn’t dislike it before.

I'm glad I cancelled the order for a 2022 Macan S. Lurchy and laggy? Yikes! And abysmal fuel economy to boot.
