Default Insurance Prices?

Simply out of curiosity, what is everyone seeing for insurance pricing relative to gas cars? I'm wondering what the idea of replacing batteries, etc. in the event of a collision is doing to insurance pricing.

My Taycan Turbo S is similar in price to my previous Panamera and Audi RS5, and our Audi E-tron is really cheap to insure. The most expensive car I've had was our Tesla Model X, but I believe that has more to do with Tesla's are more expensive to repair in general, not directly related to the battery pack.

So in general, no more expensive than comparable vehicles.

I was being taken to the cleaners with my 4 S ( $2K/year ) until switching to another company ( $ 550/year ). I have $500K liability, $1000 ded collision, comprehensive, annual premium payment as previously.

I can't discuss gassers but my taycan cost a bit less to insure than my model 3p did despite the taycan being a more costly car.
the battery is not a concern for insurance, in most cases the battery will outlast the car.

I was thinking about the cost to replace the batteries should they be damaged in a collision.

if the car suffers so much damages that the battery pack is damaged I might think that the car is not worth repairing. the battery pack is in the bottom of the car and is not going to see damages from all but the worst collisions

I guess I’m going to the cleaners at ~$4.8k/year and $100k liability, $1k deductibles. I need that other company in my life

*NB It’s probably the recently licensed 17-yr old daughter that’s helping them take me to the cleaners though

trying to compare insurance rates are next to impossible. there are so many factors that go into underwriting of policies. the only constant in the calculation is the car.
then there is the owner/driver, his driving record, his credit record, where the car lives, other drivers in the household, how many miles driven is anticipated, his history with an insurance company IE: other policies like home, levels of coverage plus many other factors
the fact that taycan owner A pays $500 per year and owner B pay $2k a year has zero context as a stand alone.

You'd be surprised.

My first Model 3 was totaled after some road debris punctured the battery case. The damage was not that severe: I was able to drive off to the shoulder from the scene and would have kept driving had I not had a flat tire. The only other visual evidence was the slightly destroyed front airdam.

But since the battery replacement ($19k with labor) was added to the subframe and suspension components needing to be replaced, we quickly got over the 70% repair cost.

Understood. But that's why I was asking for individuals to share their personal experience. All of those things you named would remain consistent for the same person, other than the change of car. In other words, if I've been driving a Panamera then switch to a Taycan, I can see how the change of vehicle would affect my insurance. I understand that everything you listed would change from person to person, but if that person remains the same and the vehicle changes, it can give some indication of the vehicle's affect on the insurance. At least, that's what I was thinking going into this thread....
