There just aren’t that many car geeks. Most people don’t give a **** about driving experience or cars. They just want cheap transportation.

apparently by the end of the year I could get an EV with over twice the range of my 911. I won’t, but damn getting to LA without stopping at all is an achievement and something I can’t do in any ice car I’d care to own. The velocity of improvement here is faster than most people seem to appreciate
Good points. I love my 2018 991.2 GT3, but then I purchased a 2019 Model 3 Performance the following year to replace my previous daily driver. Once I experienced the M3P, I realized that the 991.2 GT3 was last NA sports car I would ever purchase new.

I don't like turbo lag, weight, or handling, or lag, and so in order to purchase an NA car with the same torque/0-60 as a $55,000 Telsa M3P, I would have to buy a $230,000 Lamborghini, which doesn't really work as a driver driver and is 4X as expensive, and that doesn't even include all the tech that makes a quality EV such a great daily driver. The majority of the vehicles sold by 2030 will be EVs. The cars and the options to buy them are accelerating rapidly.

I still treasure the experience of tracking and canyon carving with my GT3 and plan to keep her forever, but the rest of my future cars will be BEVs

I was talking with my across-the-back-fence neighbor yesterday. He was showing me his new Model YP. He also owns a couple of Macans, a Cayenne, and used to own a 930 Turbo - among others. Loves the Y. He is now in the "I'll never buy another ICE car" camp as well.
