Macan or G63 for ski mobile. Taycan for Vegas runs.

Thanks Guys,

That is a great read and it gives me some great direction.

I think that the G63 will be the best for the snow.

Vegas that is an interesting one. I think I would prefer my Aston.

I am going to take the Taycan to Palm Springs for Thanks Giving, So I will be sure to update with my thoughts and photos.

Playing around with ABRP a bit more, the drive time to charge time ratio for the trip from Beverly Hills to Mammoth would be about 5:1 in the Taycan. (By comparison, for the same trip, a Chebby Bolt EV would be about 2.5:1, Jag i-Pace about 3.3:1, and my early Model 3 LR/RWD/aero about 10:1.) Add those draggy roof racks or that coffin, and you'll be taking even more time charging to make up for the aero losses.

Realize that the 90+kWh battery pack in the Taycan is equivalent to just under three gallons of gas. EVs largely make up for this because their drive trains are like 90+% efficient vs 20+% (or worse) in an ICE car. Most of the energy in each gallon of gas you buy for an ICE car gets blown out the exhaust or radiator as heat. But it also means that with such low drive train losses, other factors in EVs such as aero and HVAC use become relatively much more significant than with ICE cars.

As for the Aston - I bet once you get your 240V charging situation worked out, the Aston will become a dust collector.

I agree with this statement, after I got over the initial shock of no sound and still having great performance, I must say, I am looking for excuses to not drive my ICE cars. I don't let the charging bother me because the ride is so exquisite its worth a 30 minute stop. Lately I drove my lambo to Salem, OR and back to seattle and missed the Taycan the whole time. Will this be true when the Honeymoon is over, I don't know...time will tell? TTS is just such a capable vehicle....changes the norm,

Out of all of my cars the Aston is very special and I love the ***** out of it!!

V12 twin turbo! The sound and the looks!! It is a serious work of art. One of the best daily cars I have owned and definitely one of the best GT cars.

the Gas consumption on the other hand is a whole different story!! Sometimes I have nearly a full tank and it show 80 Miles before I have to fill up again!

I took the family to Palm Springs in the Turbo for Thanksgiving.

What a machine!!

I couldn’t believe how amazing it was as a grand tourer with kids in the back and fully loaded!

The innodrive function is sh1te as it always wants you to slow down as per the speed limit. The ACC and Lane keeping were fantastic.

It is so easy to drive this car fast and it is effortless!

The hotel we are staying at has the car on full charge and she was ready to the next day.

Nothing better than not having to bug gas or stop on the way!

Setting it at 100mph Max could be good. I found myself going constantly over 110 when over taking

@Condor Man That has to be the shortest run from electrical panel to charging base ever. I think the cord going from the charging base to the car is longer.
