Taycan Turbo at COTA
Very interesting to experience as a passenger riding in a friend's Taycan Turbo over the weekend. Car does handle surprisingly well for being so heavy but understeered a lot with the all season tires that couldn't quite keep up. Acceleration was out of this world as expected. Interior way better than Model 3 but probably not worth the price premium. Have also been around COTA in a Model 3 Performance and the Taycan obviously handles much better and with brakes that can actually keep up. I feel like the acceleration out of corners is similar. Seats are significantly better in the Taycan. Started with about 90% charge and went to about 60% after six laps during first session.

Thanks for sharing this - great to see the car out on my hometown track! Also nice to see they have resurfaced areas now to get rid of some of the bumps that developed over the last few years..

lap time? charge at track? how much regen vs friction braking under heavy braking into turn 12? any loss of power? tire pressures? top speed? consumption metrics for the 6 laps? max g’s lateral? max g’s under braking? soooooo many questions!

Those decreasing radius Esses look like they are tricky as hell...

GT3 at COTA - 158 mph down the back straight…so 155 mph not bad for 5,100 lbs sedan

What chassis options did your friend's Taycan have?

Was this your friend at Cota-Sanjay, CarmineGT3?
Either way, very informative video (on several fronts) that I think we should watch.
Sanjay's experience and reflections here were certainly real world.
