Default Possible Charging Door design flaw?

I notice on the videos the DC charging side door pops in and then up into the wheel arch which will mean when doing DC fast charging if the driver forgets to close the small DC flap the door will close down on it and either get stuck or snap it off. On my eTron the door pops out and down so after a DC charge when the main charging door auto closes it also closes the small DC flap automatically on its way back up...

Good reason not to pay $600 extra for something that's bound to break anyway.

The $600 option is not for DC charging it is to enable you to DC charge at non 800amp chargers like EVgo etc., The DC charge port with flap is standard on most all current EVs world wide.

Tesla has had issues in the past getting some of its features, like the pop-out door handles and the charge port panel, to open in freezing conditions. Porsche claims it specifically tested its design to avoid this problem, fogging up the panel multiple times with layers of ice and engineering the panel’s motors to continuously apply more voltage until it’s powerful enough to open the door.

It also helps that the panel recesses into the car, rather than opening out, allowing the panel to pull away from any sheet ice instead of having to break through it.

From a Jalopnik column on why the design is that way.

I'd estimate that 1/3 to 1/2 of the countless issues we've had with our PSeH have been related to the charging port door and the port itself.

It's an infuriatatingly-poor design.

Could the DC flap be spring loaded to prevent that issue. That is what is being developed for other (much less expensive) OEMs, I would think Porsche would think of that issue.
