Default New Batteries

Does anyone know about this? Do you have any details?

“The next generation of batteries will come in 2020, and will bring an increase in the ampere hours of our battery cells from 37 to 47. This will permit us to achieve larger ranges, which we will gradually introduce into our products.”

Saw the same article and was going to post for feedback from the engineering members of the forum.

This also begs the question: Are the next generation batteries arriving with the Taycan launch or is this something that will be put in production later in 2020? If it's later in 2020, why would anyone want an early 2020 Taycan?

So Many questions, so little factual information.

Second interesting Tesla and batteries to come out today.

https://electrek.co/2019/03/11/tesla...nt-catl-china/

In reading the article, it does not go into a lot of details but if I'm reading this correctly, there is no Tesla battery factory being built in China at the moment and Tesla will rely on a 3rd party supplier CATL for batteries for the model 3's being built in China. This makes sense as last week Tesla announce a $500 million dollar loan to start construction of the model 3 assembly plant. These are short articles without a lot of detail so interested to hear from others who may have done a deeper dive on the story.

The Australian interview indicated that Blume was talking about the Panamera E-Hybrid in the context of 37 --> 47 Ah:

So I'm hoping that next year's versions of E-Hybrids will have usefully better all-electric range.
One interesting thing that Blume said in that interview was "... and then to come round about 2020 with the electrified Macan.”
Since the Cross Turismo is slated to come out in 2020, and since it looks like a cross between a Macan and a Panamera, I'm wondering if the Cross Turismo might end up being the new "Macan EV"... It's hard to imagine that Porsche will come out with three new EVs within 1-2 years time for such a relatively small company that's currently only manufacturing vehicles with ICEs in them.

It's a Porsche. When I put my deposit down last summer, I assumed that batteries weren't included.
