Default '11 Spyder w/ Pics - 1st Post

Greetings all, been lurking for some time... finally signed up and posted. I have an '11 Spyder, silver with full red interior, PDK sport chrono, PSE and a few other goodies I'm probably forgetting. This is my first Porsche after 3 different Corvettes. I love this car and am still getting used to it. Anyway, I'm sure pictures are better than words here. The last two pictures are from an ArkLATex cruise that I was able to join the first month I had it. If anyone is near Shreveport and wants to go for a spirited cruise I'm game!

Beautiful!

That must have been a significant difference in driving experience coming from Corvette's. What Corvette's did you have before the Spyder and what made you switch?

Welcome aboard. I had many Corvettes until I switched to Porsche about 5 years ago for good. I have a 2011 Spyder, a 2012 Cayenne Turbo and a 2014 GT3.
After you have had it awhile, be sure to give us your feedback on how it compares. I loved Corvettes for the bang for the buck they offered, but their lack of refinement in a large number of areas became evident once I took the Porsche plunge.

Thanks for the welcome!

I have had a C4, C5 and C6 vette and loved them all. I'm still learning this car and the great things about it (besides how good looking it is ). My last Vette was a Grand Sport and it was (in my opinion) almost perfect in terms of raw performance. If I was able to go to the track often I don't think I would have had made the swap as easily. The Grand Sport was a beast there. That said, I'm looking forward to taking this to a HPDE because it corners so well and it seems like I can feel the road better in it. It is an engineering marvel. And... Last but not least, the fit and finish of the Porsche is hands down better than the Vette (and I'm including the C7 in that statement!).

Welcome to the club. The silver spyder is the best looking of the spyder family imho. Lovely in combination with the red interior.

i have owned a silver over black '11 spyder for a couple of months now and absolutely love it.

Coming from a 964 and 356 speedster outlaw replica it is the ideal combination of looks experience and usablity (yes,... Compared to the 356 speedster rep. It is a very usable car. The waterproof top is a true blessing although other people seem to dislike it).

Have great fun and keep those pictures coming....
