That is the true bikin temporary convertible top. Performance Products and Ecklers and other companies used to make these for Porsche cabriolets and Corvettes respectively. I had one for my mother Mercedes SL..................under $100 front fits under windshields wipers velcro for door handles and usually slips under trunk decklid...........
where did you get that RED Bikini top cover I need one for my spider. 4 minute install keeps the sun from bleaching interior and leaves and even a quick Down Pour and you are water tight.

I got it here:
http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/20A50463A1.aspx
It has multiple Velcro ties and stays on quite well under winds. However, the fabric is very light so the cover is a bit hard to put on when it's windy.

I can see it being more convenient than the Sypder top to install.
Which one did you buy? That link shows a listing of a bunch, most of which are designed for 4 seater convertibles - and it's not even really clear if those cars are intended to demonstrate what model the cover was designed for or if they're just pictures of cars so you can see a cover on a car.

These guys sell a boxster interior cover. They are kind of local, so when I get time (yea right), I'd like to drive out and see how well they fit a Spyder. No affiliation, ect....

As others have said, if you have enough space to open both doors, you can put the top up in less than 60 seconds alone and 30 seconds helped. it's dropping the bottom bar, hooking the bar and spring and then closing the front carbon fiber part. It's SUPER quick if you take the time to learn. Don't think you need anything other than what Porsche did for you... Having said that, the part that you want exists. It's made by http://www.speedart-tuning.de/2008/e...pyder-rot.html

I'm amazed at the amount of hand wringing that still goes on over the top. I love it. And invariably just use the top part 90% of the time. On or off in under a minute. Turn the car on and the top is stowed before the engine is warm.

Yeah batty I suppose it's really not bad at all. It's mostly just the wrangling of the thing in and out of the trunk as compared to moving just a cloth. But for just a cloth you'd be running around a lot more to secure it all over the place so I don't think there's really any win there.
